Leave of Absence Request

Leave of absence (LOA) relates to a suspension of study for a period of time after enrolment has taken place. LOA can only be granted for a total of two periods of not greater than six months each (2 semesters); the duration of the approved LOA shall not count towards the student’s course duration. Leave of Absence is for up to a maximum of 1 year. Students may be permitted to take up to one year of additional LOA where there are compelling personal, medical or compassionate grounds. Refer Student Handbook for terms and conditions. Students requesting a leave of absence from enrolled subjects prior to the Census Date for that semester are permitted without affecting the student’s transcript or fees. Students who withdraw from a subject after Census Date will receive a fail grade (‘F’) on their transcript, and no refund of fees are paid.
