EDU506 │ Core Subject │ 10 credit points
Overview
This subject will equip school leaders with biblically-informed management skills, enabling them to more effectively fulfil their roles in school leadership. Taking on any leadership position in a school is both a privilege and a challenging prospect for today’s educators. The complex nature of the role is further intensified if the leadership or management role occurs in the context of a Christian school. A Christian school leader is not only tasked with staff, management and instructional leadership; they must also foster the school’s biblical vision and purpose while responding authentically to shifting cultural norms.
It is clear that many aspects of Western culture can be celebrated, but just as clearly, there are many other trends, beliefs, and values that need to be discerned and resisted. Students will explore the principles of school management, applying them to their own context, and moving towards transformational leadership.
